The Brashear Association will graciously accept any non-perishable food donations. However, the following items tend to be the most costly and most difficult to keep stocked.

Colors of Carson Street

Colors of Carson Street was commissioned by South Side Local Development Company to coincide with the Pittsburgh 250 celebrations. The piece is a vivid interpretation of cyclists through the East Carson Street historic district with the cityscape rising in the background. All proceeds from the sale of Colors of Carson Street will benefit the programs of South Side Local Development Company.

Building a New Neighborhood

Phase 1 of the Hilltop Housing Initiative is complete and homes are available for sale! The Initiative is a 45-unit affordable housing development intended to revitalize Pittsburgh's Allentown, Beltzhoover, and Knoxville neighborhoods. Six of the first eight homes on Beltzhoover and Industry streets are still available. Explore South Side and other city neighborhoods with new tours South Side is one of seven city neighborhoods featured on the new Pittsburgh Neighborhood Tours. The other neighborhoods are Bloomfield, Lawrenceville, Mt. Washington, North Side, Oakland, and the Strip District.

The website includes profiles of the neighborhoods, along with travel tips. The site also features several self-guided tours, such as Pious Pittsburgh, Sounds of the City, and Pittsburgh Arts Big and Small.

Fun features for residents and visitors include "Share my Pittsburgh Story"and "Send a Postcard" sections. The site even offers information on special events and ways that urban explorers can either "Spare no Expense" or get "Cheap Thrills" in the neighborhoods.

Pittsburgh Neighborhood Tours was financed by a grant from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development.
